The medical staff consists of 140 physicians specializing in 35 areas of medicine. Inpatient services include a 36-bed medical unit, a 28-bed surgical unit, 10 birthing center suites, 6 pediatric beds, and 18 CCU/ICU/Biotelemetry beds. Outpatient services include a state-of-the-art Cath Lab and a CAP accredited laboratory. Diagnostic imaging services include a 64-ring CT scanner, nuclear medicine with SPECT scanning, ultrasound, dedicated mammography including digital mammography and an in-house, high field MRI. Other departments and services include a neurology laboratory, a GI laboratory and nutritional support, pain management, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy. In addition, CGH offers an ambulatory surgical center, a Digestive Health Center, physical and occupational therapy, a diabetic education department, a wound care center, pre-hospital paramedic level EMS, and a 24-hour trauma ready emergency department. CGH operates its own Day Care Center adjacent to the campus.
Job Description
This position is full-time days; 36 hours/week. Competitive wage and generous benefits package. Responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures including nuclear cardiology and on-call.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs general nuclear and PET/CT procedures using accepted principles and practices.
Accurately assesses examination quality, appropriateness and results.
Keeps accurate isotope and quality assurance process records as required by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
Educates patients by explaining procedures.
Completes record entries into computerized system.
SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) and/or RT(N) required.
Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license required.
Two years experience in Nuclear Medicine required.
Advance knowledge of Nuclear Medicine principles required.
Advance knowledge of radiation protection, physics and radio-pharmaceuticals required.
Basic computer literacy to include word processing software application required.
